  1. Something I found very interesting was how he saw people fall into the meat crushers and hot vats of oil. Its crazy to think that would happen and that they wouldn't find until the next day. A positive thing you did was that you knew your material very well and had good depth. Something to criticize is to just spread out the talking more.

  2. One thing that I learned about Upton Sinclair was of the detail that he went into while describing the meat packing industries. I was unaware that he was a socialist. Both of you did a great job of detailing his life work. One thing I would criticise is that you didn't equally talk the same amount.

  3. I think you guys gave great detail with his life history and how he is known to be iconic to people. I learned about him writing so many books, especially The Jungle. You also both gave really great eye contact with the audience and made sure to look at everyone, not just one person specifically.

One thing I would suggest is adding some more to your slides, even though you still explained everything so well out loud.

  5. Your group seemed well educated on the subject and knew what you were talking about. Learned a lot about the conditions in the work enviornment and the changes he brought about. Kept our attention on the speaker and let the power point guide you. Maybe next time you guys could split up the work a little more evenly. besides that it was pretty good, well done.

  6. I really liked how you included how pivotal his book the jungle was, not only for his career but also for the society changed it caused. I found your presentation to be kept me intentive and interested. One thing I would critique was it seemed like Nathan did majority of the work.

  7. Something that was very interesting to me was the gritty details about the meat packing industry. It was a very well prepared presentation. A criticism would be that the presentation itself was very one-sided.

  8. The presentation did a great job of showing the different works he has done as a journalist, and his story of the meat packing industry. I have only heard of Upton Sinclair, but never knew who he was, and now through the presentation I have gained that knowledge of him. One criticism about the presentation would be how both of you guys could spread the talking out.

  9. The presentation you did talked a lot about the details and conditions of the packing industry. This part was very informed and I was impressed by how much you knew on the subject. Overall you did a good job with the information and got everything done. My only criticism is maybe to divide the work up a little more.

  10. One thing that really intrigued and also grossed me out was the fact that in some of the factories where they were packing and processing meat, sometimes the immigrants would die and their bones would end up in the meat that they were processing in the factories which is really unsanitary. The presentation had good facts in it however, the work didn't really seem to be equally divided.

  11. I learned a lot more about how gross the meat packing industry was, and learned that Upton was brave for writing about this. I liked how you both were really well prepared, and really knew what you were talking about. Not a whole lot I didn't like about this presentation, I thought you guys maybe could have divided up the work a little more, but great job!

  12. You both did really well describing Upton Sinclairs work, especially the book The Jungle. I found it horrifying that people would fall into the vats. I also liked how you described certain details, like that he was a writer in a progressive era, or that he was a socialist, which didn't help him as a writer. One thing I would do would be to spread out the talking a little more.

  13. The use of all of Uptons beliefs and his views on the food industry was cool to listen to because this is a very relevant topic in today's society. The only thing wrong was that the project seemed to be one sided.

  14. This presentation did a really good job of describing the book The Jungle. "The flies were dark in the air" was a quote that was mentioned from this presentation and that was very surprising that they had this type of working environment. Some constructive criticism is that you should have maybe included a video clip or more pictures for some visuals.

Overall, this was a very good presentation and I really enjoyed it.
